"I've been driving for over 30 years and I still learned a lot of new stuff. This is the most friendly school in all of Washington. The teachers go out of their way for every student to make sure we all pass. Mr. Gill takes extra care on the drives to ensure we understand what the testers are looking for. 5 in my group and we all passed in the first shot."

    Rick Lotenz

"Amazing school. Best in Washington. The instructors are number one, they understand what they're doing and explain very well. Do not go to another school you will regret it. I went to another school first and after day one I came straight here. Easy decision. Passed test first time."

      FAQ

      • What is a Class A CDL License?

A Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) shows carriers and employers that you are a certified and competent licensed Professional Truck Driver. Operating certain commercial motor vehicles requires specialized skills and knowledge.

With a Class A CDL and the proper endorsements, you may drive the following types of vehicles:

        1. Tractor-trailers
        2. Truck and trailer combinations
        3. Tanker vehicles
        4. Flatbeds
        5. Low beds
        6. Container Trucks
        7. School Buses

By requiring a Class A CDL license, the FMCSA and DOT ensure that unsafe drivers are not behind the wheels of commercial vehicles.

The Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act’s goal is to improve highway safety by ensuring that drivers of large trucks and buses are qualified to operate those vehicles and to remove unsafe and unqualified drivers from the highways.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has developed and issued standards for testing and licensing commercial motor vehicle drivers.

Among other things, the standards require states to issue a Class A CDL to a commercial motor vehicle driver only after the driver passes knowledge and skills tests administered by the state related to the type of vehicle to be operated. Drivers need a CDL license if they drive interstate, intrastate, or in foreign commerce.

      • How much can a Truck Driver earn?

CDL drivers who just work for a trucking company earn between $48,000 and $70,000 in the first year of driving. The more experience you have as a driver, the more money you can make. CDL drivers who own their own trucks working as an owner operators can earn $160,000 to $300,000 per year! We have trained drivers who earn that much money every year.

      • What affordable payment plans do you offer?

Our programs at A Class Training can be

started with just $1000 down. Pay-As-You-Go allows our students the flexibility to

pay weekly or when training is complete. It’s your choice!

      • Why is the Class A course more expensive than the Class B?

The amount of driving time in each course is the difference. A Class A vehicle is a big tractor trailer, an 18 wheeler. A Class B is a single, smaller vehicle. The tractor-trailer course requires more driving time for a person to become proficient. A Class A student requires 160 hours behind-the-wheel while a Class B driver only needs 80 hours.
